Search - Opens a form that displays all preconfigured queries in a pull-down list. Queries are a means of selecting features from a map layer based on attribute values. A database query will be built using the values entered on the form, and any matching features will be highlighted on the map. Each query in the pull-down list privides an explanation of the expected input(s). If no matching features are found for the supplied input values, a message to that effect will be displayed. |

Identify - After selecting this tool, you can click on features of the active layer (click here for more information on how to change the active layer in the Map Layers Window). Database information for the selected feature(s) will be displayed in a popup window. |

Identify All - Like the Identify tool, however this function returns database information on all visible map layers at the selected map location. |

Select by Point - Enables the selection of features of the active layer by clicking targeted features within the map. Selected features will be highlighted, and their database information can be viewed in the attribute window. |

Select by Envelope - Enables the selection of multiple features of the active layer by drawing a box over the targeted features. Any features that intersect (touch or are contained by) the box will be selected. Selected features will be highlighted, and their database information can be viewed in the attribute window. |

Select by Feature - Enables the selection of features in the targeted map layer, based on whether they spatially overlap the selected features of the active map layer. Selected features will be highlighted, and their database information can be viewed in the attribute window. |

Zoom to Selected - This button will be visible on the toolbar whenever there are selected features. |

Zoom to Buffer - This button will be visible on the toolbar whenever there is a buffer polygon. |
